I nostri rami d'azienda nascono separatamente: per l'esercizio del Ramo Vita viene istituito nel 1912 l'Istituto Nazionale delle Assicurazioni che, negli oltre 90 anni di attività, ha raccolto e amministrato milioni di contratti che gli hanno consentito di affermarsi e di radicarsi nel vissuto degli italiani; nel 1923 l'INA istituisce l'Assitalia S.p.A. per le esigenze relative ai rami danni e nel 1927 ne acquisisce l'intero capitale rilevando le quote degli altri soci.
